2020
Company: Gensler
Project
Helped research, conceptualize and design the interior and exterior of a $2.3 billion project scheduled to be completed in 2023.
In 2018, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) broke its record for passenger traffic, serving 87.5 million travelers. Delta Air Lines' expansion and renovation project at LAX positions both the airline and the airport for future growth. The project involves connecting Terminals 2 and 3, creating a centralized hub for Delta and its partners that offers a seamless journey from curb to gate.
The upgrades include automated security lanes, more gate-area seating, and local food and shopping options that showcase L.A.'s culture and identity. With these enhancements, Delta's Sky Way at LAX sets an example for future airport design by providing an improved passenger experience and better connections. This modernization program is viewed as an investment in the local economy and community, promoting growth and innovation for the city.
